Hello everyone!
Before starting this blog, I spent a long time wondering where to begin. Then I realized: I need to take you back to my 12th-grade year (Intermediate).
The High Stakes of EAMCET
After completing my 12th grade, I jumped straight into EAMCET coaching. Everything seemed to be going well until the day of the entrance test. My exam center was about 25km away from home, so my dad drove me there along with a friend who was also appearing for the test. When the time finally came, we stepped into the hall and poured out everything we had spent months memorizing.
As I walked out of the exam, the clouds opened up. It started pouring rain. I told my dad, "We can't wait here, let's just go!" We hopped on the bike and started the long trek home. "Go faster, Dad!" I urged as the rain got heavier. By the time we finally made it home, I was soaked, but the stress of the exam was over. I remember an IPL match was on that night—CSK vs. MI. From that day on, I finally had some free time while I waited for the results.
The First Disappointment
When the results finally arrived, my heart sank. Seeing my rank was disappointing; while it wasn't a "bad" figure, I was convinced it wasn't good enough to get a seat at SVCE. My parents, however, were my rock. "Be cool," they told me. "Don't worry, you have good days ahead of you."
When counseling day arrived, I went with my dad in the afternoon. I submitted all my certificates, and the officer was encouraging, telling me I had done everything perfectly.
The Waiting Game
Two days later, it was time to select my "Web Options" at the local internet center. I had my heart set on Mechanical Engineering, as it was the only branch that truly interested me. I listed SVCE as my first choice and AITS as my second.
Ten days later, the results were released. I was crushed. I didn't get into SVCE; I was assigned a seat at AITS instead. I was so determined to get into SVCE that I actually called them to ask if there were any remaining vacancies in the Mechanical department. They were quite rude over the phone, so I simply hung up, feeling defeated.
The Turning Point: Second Counseling
I went to AITS, submitted my certificates, and paid the fees. I thought my path was set. But ten days later, someone mentioned a glimmer of hope: Second Counseling.
"Is that really an option?" I asked. "Yes," he replied. "It’s the only way you might still get into SVCE."
I went back to the internet center, but this time, I took a gamble. I selected only one college: SVCE.
The Result
When the second counseling results were posted, my hands were literally shaking as I typed in my number. I scrolled down and... I GOT IT! I finally secured a seat at SVCE!
I immediately called my dad to give him the news. "You finally achieved it," he said. Then, I had to make a different kind of call to my new friends at AITS to tell them I wouldn't be back tomorrow. That was my last day there.
The next day, I went to SVCE, submitted my certificates, and officially began my B.Tech journey.
My real college life was finally starting... and I’ll tell you all about it on the next page!
