Welcome Back! My B.Tech Life: The First Day at SVCE

Welcome back! It sounds like your first day was a classic mix of "first-day jitters" and the typical chaos of college bus schedules. I’ve polished the text to give it a smooth, professional blog feel while keeping that personal, "storytelling" vibe.

Here is the continuation of your journey:

Welcome Back! My B.Tech Life: The First Day at SVCE

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog. Picking up right where we left off—after finally submitting my certificates at SVCE, it was time for the real deal.

The next morning, I headed to college with just one notebook in hand and a heart full of nerves. We all know that feeling, right? You don’t know anyone, you don’t know where to go, and for me, it all started with the infamous bus journey.

The Great Bus Confusion

I wasn't quite sure when the bus would arrive at my stop. The previous day, the in-charge told me it would be there at 7:00 AM sharp. Being a diligent first-year student, I was at the stop by 6:45 AM.

A bus arrived right on time, but it wasn't for us—it was for the final-year students. I waited and waited, but no other bus showed up. In a bit of a panic, I called my dad. He was busy, but he managed to arrange for a family friend (whom I fondly call "Uncle") to drop me at another stop.

That’s where I met KBV Prakash. He was the first person I introduced myself to that morning. When he told me he was a Mechanical student, I was shocked! "Me too!" I replied. As we boarded the bus, it seemed like every student we picked up at every stop was also from the Mechanical branch. Prakash, being more social than me, introduced me to everyone. By the time we arrived, I already felt like part of the "Mechanical Gang."

Finding Room 7108

Once we arrived at the campus, the next challenge was finding the classroom. Prakash guided me to Room No. 7108. I stepped inside and felt a wave of relief—I saw an old friend from my Intermediate days already sitting there. We swapped "hellos," and I finally started to settle in.

The Faculty Lineup

Then, the classes began. We were all curious to see who our lecturers would be.

  • Chemistry – Rupa Mam: She was the first to enter. She noticed right away that none of us were in formal attire and gave us our first "college order": From tomorrow, everyone must be in formals. She is actually the reason I started to love Chemistry. Before B.Tech, I wasn't a fan, but her teaching style was different. She had a soft spot for us, often saying, "I love Mechanical and Mechanical students." It’s no wonder she became everyone’s favorite lecturer.

  • Computer Programming – Purandhar Sir: Next up was CP. He was a senior faculty member who clearly knew his stuff. However, since most of us didn't know the basics of C-programming yet, many of us were a bit lost. Despite that, you could tell he was one of the best in his field.

  • Mathematics-1 (M1) – Narendra Mohan Sir: In B.Tech, "M1" is a name that strikes fear into the hearts of students. Our class teacher, Narendra Mohan Sir, walked in and immediately noticed I was a new face. He was soft-spoken—sometimes so quiet it was hard to hear him—but he spent the period giving us a thorough introduction to what M1 was all about.

  • English – Kalyan Sir: Our last period was English. Kalyan Sir’s room was right opposite our class, so he was waiting outside 10 minutes early! He spent the class talking about space and various other topics. Since it was the last period of a very long day, some of my classmates were already nodding off! Eventually, he laughed and said, "That’s enough for today."

The Journey Home

After class, I asked Prakash which bus went to Vidyanagar. He wasn't sure, so I checked with the van in-charge, who pointed me toward Bus No. 07. I found a spot at the very back and sat silently as the bus wound its way through the streets.

When we reached my stop, I made sure to tell the driver, "Uncle, this is my stop. I'll be waiting here every morning from now on." He gave me a nod and an "Okay."

I stepped off the bus and walked the final kilometer home. My mom was waiting at the door, ready to hear every single detail of my first day.

Sorry, readers! Because it was my very first day, I wanted to share all the little details with you. From the next post onward, I'll keep things a bit more brief and focus on the highlights.

How was your first day of college? Did you have any bus struggles like I did? Let me know in the comments below!

My Journey to SVCE: A Story of Second Chances

Hello everyone! Before starting this blog, I spent a long time wondering where to begin. Then I realized: I need to take you back to my 12th-grade year (Intermediate). The High Stakes of EAMCET After completing my 12th grade, I jumped straight into EAMCET coaching. Everything seemed to be going well until the day of the entrance test. My exam center was about 25km away from home, so my dad drove me there along with a friend who was also appearing for the test. When the time finally came, we stepped into the hall and poured out everything we had spent months memorizing. As I walked out of the exam, the clouds opened up. It started pouring rain. I told my dad, "We can't wait here, let's just go!" We hopped on the bike and started the long trek home. "Go faster, Dad!" I urged as the rain got heavier. By the time we finally made it home, I was soaked, but the stress of the exam was over. I remember an IPL match was on that night—CSK vs. MI. From that day on, I ...

B.Tech Diaries: From the Back Bench to the CR Seat

Hello everyone! In my last post, I shared the fine details of my very first day at SVCE. As promised, I’m going to keep things a bit more brief from here on out—but that doesn't mean the story is any less exciting! Let’s dive back into the journey... The Front-Row Shift On the first day, I ended up on the last bench, but deep down, I’ve always been a "first-bench student." By the second day, I knew I had to make a move. I walked up to a guy in the front row and asked, "Mind if I sit here?" He smiled and said, "Yeah, no problem!" That was Akhil —a guy who, coincidentally, shares a birthday with the superstar Prabhas. From that moment on, the front row became my home. Meeting the Legends: Drawing and Humor As the week progressed, I met more of the faculty: A. Venugopal Sir (Drawing/Year In-Charge): A legend at SVCE with nearly 40 years of teaching experience. As the first-year Mechanical In-Charge, he came in to check on the second-counseling students. ...

B.Tech Diaries: A Heartbreaking Farewell and a Cold Welcome

Hello readers! Welcome back. In my last post, I shared the highlights of Teacher’s Day and Engineer’s Day—some of the proudest moments of my early college life. But today, I have to tell you about the first real "sad" moment of my first year. I know I promised to keep things brief, but this story is close to my heart. Let’s get into it. The News No One Wanted to Hear About a month after college started, we were all buzzing with excitement for Fresher’s Day. But then, a "fine day" turned into a gloomy one: Rupa Mam announced her resignation. We didn't know how to react. In those short weeks, she had become more than just a teacher; she was someone we could talk to about anything. My friends and I would often visit her cabin during free hours just to catch up and gossip. She always made time for us. October 14, 2017: The Last Day Wednesday, October 14, 2017, was her final day at the college. We weren’t going to let her leave without a proper goodbye. We planned a ...
